Man denies racially abusing Semenyo

**A man has denied racially abusing Antoine Semenyo at Anfield Stadium.**

Mark Mogan was charged with the racially aggravated Section 5 public order after the incident during Liverpool FC’s opening Premier League game on August 15.

The game was temporarily halted when Bournemouth player Semenyo made referee Anthony Taylor aware of comments made to him by a supporter.

Mogan appeared at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Monday (December 22) to confirm his details and entering a plea of not guilty to the single charge against him.

The wheelchair user wore glasses and a black coat over a shirt and tie as he was released on conditional bail until his trial date which was set for April 22, 2026.

District Judge James Clark ordered that Mogan, from Dovecot, not attend any regulated football match or be within a one-mile vicinity of stadiums on match days.

He must also not contact Semenyo by any means.
