Joan Garcia was once again one of the star performers for Barcelona as they secured a 2-0 win over Villarreal to end 2025.
The former Espanyol starlet, despite being let down by his defensive teammates from time to time, produced a stellar performance in between the sticks.
Garcia was even able to retain a clean sheet by making a few extraordinary saves, including one from inside the box.
Garcia’s performance on the night did not go unnoticed either. In fact, the Barcelona bench was particularly mesmerised by his performance, as they reacted to his brilliant saves.
How Barcelona reacted to Garcia’s saves
A video shared online shows how the Barcelona bench, which comprised the club’s second goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, reacted to Garcia’s saves on the night.
The video shows how players like Fermin Lopez, Szczesny and even Marc-Andre ter Stegen, the man who was replaced by Garcia, reacted after the goalkeeper made a save against Villarreal.

Fermin, in particular, was awed by Garcia’s save and began shaking his hands in disbelief. Szczesny was quick to observe Fermin’s reaction and agreed with the Spanish national.
The veteran Pole, who replaced Garcia earlier in the season when he was injured, offered a smile and then applauded the effort.
Even Ter Stegen, sitting on the far left corner, acknowledged the save made by Joan Garcia, in what was a brilliant display of sportsmanship from the German international.
The performance against Villarreal marked the sixth clean sheet for Joan Garcia in 15 La Liga matches. He is now fourth on the list of most clean sheets in La Liga this season.
This is despite the fact that the Spaniard has played six fewer matches than Thibaut Courtois, who has only two more clean sheets than the Barcelona star.
