In the wake of another horrific season for Charlotte, LaMelo Ball obtained a huge statement from an all-time great about winning.

As the Charlotte Hornets reportedly found the newest centerpiece of their franchise, questions are starting to pile up around LaMelo Ball.

This 2025-26 season marks the sixth campaign for Ball, but the team hasn't achieved anything or a postseason appearance since his arrival as their No. 2 overall pick in 2020.
Ball has been generally perceived as unserious, with many executives viewing him as a franchise star with such a negative value.
For this, basketball great Isiah Thomas issued a major statement concerning Ball's reputation.
Ball is currently averaging 19.4 points, 8.6 assists and 5.5 rebounds, shooting below 40 percent from the field. He and the Hornets find themselves at the depths of the Eastern Conference again with a 9-20 record.
The outcome of this regular season will strongly dictate the future of Ball in the Queen City.
