The Mavs star received a brutal reception from Pelicans fans in his return to New Orleans.
Anthony Davis endured a hostile treatment in his return to the Big Easy.
The superstar big man absorbed tons of booing and heckling from the New Orleans fans in the Dallas Mavericks' road matchup against the Pelicans on Monday night.
As Davis touched the ball for the Mavs in multiple segments throughout the game, the jam-packed crowd of the Smoothie King Center unleashed jeers toward their former franchise star.
In the end, NOLA fans got the last laugh as the Pels prevailed with a 119-113 major victory. But Davis, who finished with 35 points and 17 boards, couldn't care less about the negative welcome he received.
It seems that New Orleans still hasn't forgotten how Davis left the franchise six years ago.
Chosen by the organization as the No. 1 pick of the 2012 Draft, Davis led the Pelicans for seven seasons and two trips to the NBA Playoffs. But in 2018-19, he formally requested a trade, which led to his arrival to the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason.
Davis will face the New Orleans crowd once again on March 16 for the final regular season game between the Mavericks and the Pelicans.
