We’re just over a week away from the start of the January transfer window. With teams in the Premier League all jockeying for position, which players are most likely to leave their respective clubs?
Today, we aimed to determine that – here are five Premier League stars who could make the jump elsewhere over the course of the upcoming transfer window.
Jorgen Strand Larsen
Wolves’ Premier League campaign in 2025/26 has been nothing short of abysmal – and the worst may still be yet to come. Despite only joining in the summer, Jorgen Strand Larsen could already be on his way out of the Molineux Stadium.
West Ham have recently been credited with an interest in the player, as relayed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) by acclaimed journalist David Ornstein.
Previously, Newcastle United have also thought to have been in the mix, though this has faded over time. Despite the interest, Strand Larsen has not been at his best this season, scoring just one goal in 15 Premier League appearances.
Antoine Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo might be one of the most in-demand players in world football right now. Bournemouth will have an almighty task keeping him on their books – if he doesn’t leave in January, we’d expect him to make a move in the summer.
Semenyo is understood to be a Liverpool target, but the Reds could face competition from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and bitter rivals Manchester United.
It isn’t hard to see why so many clubs want to sign him – Semenyo has scored eight Premier League goals this season, alongside three assist.
Axel Disasi
Axel Disasi has become a forgotten man at Chelsea – he isn’t the only one, but ‘several clubs’ are thought to be in the hunt for the player at the moment.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano on X. He named AC Milan as a possible destination for the 27-year-old, though he also mentioned that no clubs have entered into official talks with him as of yet.
Disasi is a frustrating player at times. While clearly talented, he can be overly erratic, which often leads to him making silly mistakes. If he can iron these errors out of his game, Disasi could be a top defender.
Brennan Johnson
Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank seems to know who his favourite attacking players are – sadly for Brennan Johnson, he isn’t among them. As such, Spurs could look to let him go in January.
So far, Brentford and Championship outfit Ipswich Town are the two teams who are thought to be in the race for the Welsh international’s signature, according to BBC Sport.
Johnson would be an excellent addition to Brentford’s squad – their propensity for counter-attacking football would suit him perfectly.
Kobbie Mainoo
The saga surrounding Kobbie Mainoo at Manchester United could develop into the biggest transfer story of the winter. It’s no secret – Mainoo simply isn’t rated as highly by Ruben Amorim as he is by the fans.
It seems unlikely that the Red Devils would want a clean break, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see him leave the club on loan.
Most of his potential suitors have yet to throw their hat into the ring, but Everton could make a move for the 20-year-old before February 2.
