West Ham in talks to sign “unstoppable” former Barcelona star in January

West Ham’s Premier League struggles continued over the weekend as they were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City.

Erling Haaland netted twice while Tijani Reijinders also scored, leaving Nuno Espirito Santo’s side rooted in 18th place.

Worryingly, the Hammers have now scored just 19 goals in 17 games, highlighting their need for attacking reinforcements as January approaches.

West Ham United are reportedly holding discussions over a potential January deal for Fulham winger Adama Traore, the former Barcelona star.

The Daily Mail reports that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on reuniting with Traore, having worked with him at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Traore, 29, has been described as “unstoppable” by Pep Guardiola and is out of contract at the end of the season, giving West Ham a chance to bring him in for a nominal fee.

This season, the Spaniard has made 15 appearances for Fulham across all competitions but has started only three matches, meaning he could be attracted by the promise of more regular playing time at the London Stadium.

A reunion with Espirito Santo could also be a major selling point, with Traore having produced some of his best football under the Portuguese manager.

West Ham see him as a potential solution to their ongoing goal-scoring problems, and talks between the clubs are said to be progressing.

If the deal goes through, Traore could provide the spark West Ham desperately need in attack. His pace, dribbling, and familiarity with Nuno Espirito Santo’s system make him a natural fit to help the Hammers improve their goal output.

With the January window approaching, a move for the former Barcelona star could be a key step in steering the club away from relegation trouble.
