Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors’ 120-97 blowout win over the Orlando Magic on Monday was overshadowed by an untoward incident between head coach Steve Kerr and veteran forward Draymond Green. The two were seen arguing intensely on the bench early in the second half, which ultimately led to Green walking out and heading to the locker room.
Green eventually returned to the court before the fourth quarter, but he never got off the bench to check back into the game. After the win, Kerr stated that Green “wasn’t going back in.”
The ugly incident placed a cloud over Golden State’s second straight win, as they improved to 15-15 to get back to the .500 mark.

Curry led the way for the Warriors with 26 points on 10-of-23 shooting, to go along with three rebounds, six assists, two steals and four triples in 31 minutes of action.
After the game, the former back-to-back MVP was asked to comment on Green and Kerr’s in-game altercation. Curry had a blunt reaction to the incident.
“Just having a good conversation, it’s kind of for them to talk about, not me,” he said.
Curry then shared his honest thoughts on what Green did after his heated argument with Kerr. When asked if he thought Green’s decision to walk out would have any lasting impact in terms of Green’s leadership role with the team, Curry kept his response brief.
“I don’t think so, I don’t know, I know he came up here and talked about it,” Curry said. “I haven’t had a chance to talk to him, so I’m pretty sure we know how to be professional about it.”
It now remains to be seen how the Warriors will react to Green’s latest episode. At this point, it’s possible that the former Defensive Player of the Year receives some form of punishment for his behavior during Monday’s game.
The Golden State gets two days off before its next game. Curry and Co. will be back on the court on Thursday for a Christmas Day showdown against Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks. Tip-off from Chase Center is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. ET.
