Chelsea have made an initial enquiry for Antoine Semenyo with Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also interested in the Ghana international, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.
Currently, United and City are the frontrunners to sign the Bournemouth star next month, with Liverpool assessing their options, Tottenham out of the race, and Arsenal not currently as active as the Manchester clubs in the race for the sought-after attacker, GMS sources have revealed.
Semenyo is believed to have a release clause which is active in the early stages of the January transfer window worth £65m, but it's only valid for the opening 10 days. A winter exit is looking like for the Bournemouth attacker, with a host of top clubs in the Premier League all interested in securing his signature in one way or another.
Chelsea Enquire to Representatives of Semenyo
Semenyo
According to GIVEMESPORT sources, Chelsea have now made an initial enquiry to the representatives of Bournemouth forward Semenyo, and they have considered an approach over the last few days. The west London club have always downplayed entering the race to secure his signature, but they've not made an initial move to his representatives.
The two Manchester clubs, City and United, are still believed to be the frontrunners in the race to sign Semenyo this summer. Liverpool are assessing the situation after previously making contact back in November. A recent injury to Alexander Isak could lead to Liverpool deciding to bring in a new attacker when the winter window opens for business.

Arsenal and Tottenham Admire Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo
GIVEMESPORT sources previously confirmed that Tottenham have made an enquiry, alongside Liverpool, but both clubs aren't as active as United and City at the moment. Semenyo, labelled 'world-class' by Cherries teammate Justin Kluivert, isn't believed to be sold on a move to Tottenham at this stage, meaning Spurs are no longer active in the race.
Arsenal are also admirers of Semenyo, but they would prefer to consider a move during the summer transfer window if he hasn't departed in January. GIVEMESPORT understands that in order for the Gunners to try and secure the signature of Semenyo, a departure would be required.
