Timberwolves reportedly interested in Bulls and Hornets guards

Minnesota Timberwolves are exploring potential trades to strengthen their backcourt, with interest in a Chicago guard and the Hornets’ Collin Sexton, who is reportedly available.

Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly explored potential trade options at the guard position, with Coby White of the Chicago Bulls and Collin Sexton of the Charlotte Hornets both drawing interest, per Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.

Sources say Chicago has been more open to inquiries about White than ever before. However, White’s looming unrestricted free agent status next summer may reduce his appeal despite his relatively modest $12.9 million salary.

Minnesota has also conducted some due diligence on Sexton, who is currently a key scorer for Charlotte.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are also open to deals, particularly involving their veteran guard, as the team still hopes to compete for a Play-In spot despite a difficult start to the season.

The Wolves appear intent on understanding their options at the guard spot as they look to strengthen their roster for a playoff push.

In 12 games this season, White is averaging 21.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, shooting 44.2 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from three.

Sexton, meanwhile, has played in 21 games, posting 15.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per contest while hitting 48.9 percent of his shots overall and 36.6 percent from beyond the arc.
