Aston Villa have emerged as Premier League title contenders following their impressive run of form
Aston Villa have won their last ten matches on the spin in all competitions. They are placed in third position in the Premier League table after their 2-1 win over Manchester United at Villa Park last time out. The Midlands outfit are three points behind Arsenal at the summit and two off Manchester City in 2nd.
Morgan Rogers scored twice for them against the Red Devils. Unai Emery’s side are back in action on Saturday 27th December. They face an away trip to Stamford Bridge to lock horns with fellow high-flyers Chelsea.
Can Aston Villa keep their form going?
Aston Villa are full of confidence at the moment and will want to keep their momentum going for as long as possible as they chase down top spot. They aren’t blowing teams away but are finding ways to win games and with key attacker Rogers in fine form, they will fancy their chances of beating anyone. Their resolve will be tested as they gear up for back-to-back away matches against Chelsea and Arsenal coming up over the festive period.
Emery will be able to bring in some new faces if needed in the January transfer window. That would help freshen things up ahead of the second half of the season and inject some more quality into his ranks. The Spaniard will also have the opportunity to let players head out the exit door as well if required this winter, with question marks remaining over the future of both Harvey Elliott and Jadon Sancho.
