Trade rumors linking Giannis Antetokounmpo to the New York Knicks are gaining traction after Karl-Anthony Towns’ surprising performance against Miami. With Jalen Brunson scoring 47 points while Towns contributed only two, speculation is growing about a potential blockbuster deal that could bring the superstar big man to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Former NBA point guard Jeff Teague and his 520 crew were in disbelief over the Knicks’ win against Miami. Karl-Anthony Towns attempted just five shots all game, finishing with two points and six rebounds. The hosts were shocked that every other player on the Knicks’ roster took more shots than their max-contract star.
Teague’s crew highlighted that Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, and even Tyler Herro from the Heat all attempted more shots than Karl-Anthony Towns. They debated whether Towns was not assertive enough or if the Knicks were intentionally limiting his role in the offense. Some suggested that when he doesn’t receive early touches, Towns tends to defer, moving the ball rather than creating his own scoring opportunities.
The podcast speculated that Karl-Anthony Towns might be traded to the Milwaukee Bucks for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Teague emphasized that, despite Jalen Brunson’s 47-point masterclass, Towns’ two-point outing was inexcusable and highlighted larger problems within the team.
Is Giannis Antetokounmpo closer to becoming a member of the Knicks?

ESPN reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo identified New York as his preferred destination if the Bucks were to trade him. Earlier this year, the Knicks reportedly held an “exclusive negotiating window” when trade discussions began, positioning them as the frontrunners to acquire the Greek Freak.
New York, however, faces major challenges. After giving up five first-round picks to acquire Mikal Bridges, the Knicks have little draft capital left to offer the Bucks. ESPN outlined a potential one-for-one deal that would send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Bucks in return for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Should the Bucks pursue a rebuild, they would likely bring in a third team to flip Karl-Anthony Towns for extra draft assets. This season, Towns is averaging about 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Giannis is putting up 28 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists per game.
