Mohamed Salah has returned to form on the back of what has been a difficult few weeks at Liverpool.
Salah was dropped by Arne Slot for their Champions League meeting with Inter Milan.
He was back in the squad for the 2-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion, but there is still talk about a Liverpool exit in 2026.

Fans able to watch Egypt beat Zimbabwe for free
Egypt kicked off their AFCON campaign on December 22 with a 2-1 win over Zimbabwe.
Omar Marmoush equalised in the 64th minute of the tie before Salah scored a late winner.
It was a great moment for the fans inside the stadium, many of whom, it turns out, watched the clash for free.

As per Le Parisien, the stadium was almost empty when Monday evening’s meeting got underway.
In turn, ‘faced with empty seats and the disastrous image an empty stadium would project for the competition, they [AFCON organisers] decided to open the stadium gates to spectators free of charge.’

It led to thousands of fans making their way to the Stade Adrar to watch Salah and his teammates in action for zero charge.
The report claims that by the end of the fixture, over 30,000 supporters were in attendance.
Whether that is something we will see continue across the tournament is not yet known, but it seems even the lure of Salah wasn’t enough to fill a stadium at this stage of the competition.

Omar Marmoush in awe of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah
Elsewhere, the Liverpool forward has received high praise from one of his teammates.
Speaking on Manchester City’s official podcast, the latest episode of which came out on Monday, Marmoush spoke about how unbelievable it was to link up with Salah for the national team.
He said: “Yeah, when I first went to the national team, it was crazy. It was unbelievable to be with him [Salah] in the same camp, to train with him, just to be next to him and try to learn what he does.
“Performing in the Premier League at this high level for so many games, so many seasons, it was very good to be just next to him.”
The Premier League duo will be looking to guide Egypt to their first AFCON title since 2010 this season and are next in action on Boxing Day versus South Africa.
