Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final opponents have now been confirmed.
The Blues progressed to the last-four of the League Cup courtesy of our recent victory over Cardiff City, but had to wait to find out who we would face out of Crystal Palace and Arsenal due to their fixture being played at a later date.
We now know that we will face the the Gunners in the two-legged semi-final, following Arsenal’s dramatic shoot-out victory at the Emirates.
Arsenal thought they'd done enough in normal time following Maxence Lacroix's own goal, before former Cobham graduate Marc Guehi equalised deep into injury time to send the game to penalties.
And after 15 perfect spot-kicks, Lacroix was denied by Kepa Arrizabalaga to ensure Arsenal won 8-7 and booked a meeting with us in the final four.
That means that we will host Mikel Arteta’s side at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 14 January, with the game kicking-off at 8pm and to be shown live on Sky Sports football.
Then we face our London rivals in the second leg at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday 3 February. That tie will kick-off at 8pm and will be shown on Sky Sports Football and ITV.
Further details for both legs, including ticketing information, will be announced on official channels in due course.
