Jones has shone after nailing down his regular starting berth alongside the Dutchman, but fans are divided over Mac Allister.
Some don’t believe he is a proper number 10 and have questioned why Slot is playing him there.
However, now that Alexander Isak is injured, the Liverpool manager has limited options in his forward line, and it’s likely we will see Florian Wirtz used off the left alongside Hugo Ekitike this weekend instead of in his more natural central role.
In turn, Mac Allister will likely keep his place as the most advanced midfielder for the time being.
