Where Liverpool finish in the 2025 Premier League table, they have really fallen off

There is just one game left in 2025 for Liverpool, with this year being a very strange one for them indeed.

The calendar year is almost over and for the Reds, they cannot complain too much after lifting the Premier League title back in May.

They really were dominant at the start of the year and were a force to be reckoned with, although keeping that up has proven tricky.

Since winning the league, Liverpool have gone on a bit of a downward spiral and not quite looked themselves, something acceptable towards the back end of last season, but not now.

When looking at the Premier League table for the entirety of 2025 as well, it really does show how far they have fallen off, with the Reds much lower than most would expect.

Liverpool finish fourth in the 2025 Premier League table

As mentioned, due to the Reds winning the title, fans will probably not want to have changed anything that has happened over the last 12 months, with that being enough on its own.

However, despite their early dominance, they have gone on a bit of a poor run after failing to win their last four games of last season, as well as losing six in the league already this season.

Despite having one more game left to play in the year, their position in the Premier League calendar year table is already sealed, with the Reds only finishing as high as fourth.

If they beat bottom of the table Wolves on December 27th, they will finish 2025 on 71 points in 38 games, as per Football365.

This still leaves them above Chelsea, but below Aston Villa, Arsenal and Manchester City, nine points below the latter two if they both win their final games of the year too.

This really does highlight their drop-off as they should have been top rather comfortably, although everything seems to have gone wrong since lifting that title.

Liverpool need to turn things around at the start of 2026

Although things have been a little down at Liverpool this season, there is a sense of optimism as results have started to pick up again.

With that said, fans will be hoping they can take this into the new year with them, with the Reds still having plenty to play for.

Technically they are not out of the title race just yet, but winning the FA Cup or Champions League feels like a better opportunity at this stage.

Arne Slot might not be under as much pressure right now, but it will quickly ramp up again should he fail to take Liverpool forward, with the Dutchman needing a good start to 2026.
