Barcelona forward Marcus Rashford has opened up about his future at the club and made it clear that his ambition is to turn his current loan spell into a permanent chapter with the Blaugrana.

After arriving from Manchester United last summer, the England international has quickly settled into life in Catalonia and is determined to prove that he belongs at one of football’s most demanding clubs.

In an interview with SPORT, Rashford reflected on his first months at Barcelona, touching on his adaptation to the city, the club environment, and the expectations that come with wearing the Barça shirt.

When asked about his early experiences and how he has adjusted to his new surroundings, Rashford first highlighted the welcome he received and his immediate sense of belonging.

“I’m adapting very well to the club and the city. From the moment I arrived, I felt that everyone welcomed me very warmly.

“For me, the reason I’m here is to help the team win trophies. Last season was fantastic, and the goal is to repeat those successes.

“ I’m totally focused on that. Everything is going great with the staff and my teammates, I can’t complain.”

The conversation then naturally turned towards his long-term future and whether securing a permanent deal is his main objective this season.

Rashford did not shy away from the subject, making his intentions crystal clear while also stressing that performances come first.

“Of course I want to stay at Barça. That’s the ultimate goal, but it’s not the reason I’m training hard and giving my best.

“The goal is to win. Barça is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles.”

Finally, Rashford addressed the pressure that comes with playing for Barcelona, a club where expectations are relentless and criticism can be unforgiving.

Rather than seeing this as a burden, the forward views it as motivation.

“There is pressure here, but it’s not negative pressure, it’s the kind of pressure you want as a player, the kind I want and have always wanted as a footballer.

“I can’t be somewhere where they don’t demand important goals; for me, it’s harder to be motivated and give my best at a club where the demands aren’t as high.

“I’m in the perfect place and environment to continue my journey as a soccer player, so I just try to give my best every,” he concluded.
