Warriors held trade talks with three teams: Their plans revealed

The Golden State Warriors, one of the most aggressive teams in the trade market, have held talks with the Nets, Pelicans, and Bulls as they explore forward and big man upgrades.

The Golden State Warriors continue to explore various trade options, both involving Jonathan Kuminga's contract and those that don't, since he won't be trade-eligible until January 15.

Golden State Warriors / Schedule

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, the Warriors have been one of the more active teams since early December, gathering intel on which players are available ahead of the trade deadline.

Other teams are aware that Golden State is looking to add an athletic forward at the deadline, along with frontcourt support alongside Al Horford and Quinten Post.

Any upgrade in the frontcourt would likely be a bigger player who can help with rebounding and rim protection—areas where Horford and Post currently struggle.

While Brooklyn Nets center Nic Claxton has been mentioned as a potential target, Siegel notes that the Warriors are more likely to pursue big men with contracts under $15 million per year.

The Warriors have reportedly held trade talks with several teams around the league, including the Brooklyn Nets, New Orleans Pelicans, and Chicago Bulls, as 2025 comes to a close.

Golden State is 15-15 on the season following their latest win over the Orlando Magic, a game that saw coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green get into a heated exchange.
