**AC Milan could be tempted to offload Arsenal transfer target Davide Bartesaghi, according to journalist Carlo Pellegatti.**
The Gunners are among the teams who have been keeping tabs on the 19-year-old, and Pellegatti says he is concerned that the Rossoneri’s hierarchy may look to cash in:
“What’s worrying me today is the Bartesaghi situation, because I’ve read that English teams, Arsenal above all, are closely monitoring Bartesaghi.”
“My fear is that if English sirens were to go off about Bartesaghi, with the potential capital gain, the temptation would be too strong.”
Arsenal have been scouting Bartesaghi
-------------------------------------
Pellegatti was the journalist who [**initially reported**](https://goonernews.com/blog/arsenal-transfer-news-davide-bartesaghi/) that Mikel Arteta’s side were interested in the Italian back in October. He claims that scouts were sent to see him play for Milan against Juventus.
It should be pointed out that other clubs, such as Barcelona, Bayer Leverkusen and even Everton, have been watching Bartesaghi as well.
The fullback di sign a five-year contract back in May, keeping him at the San Siro until 2030 in order to ward off suitors, but it appears Milan may still be willing to sell him if the price is right.
He has been compared to Maldini
-------------------------------
Bartesaghi became the youngest defender to score two goals for AC Milan since club legend Paolo Maldini, when he found the back of the net twice during a 2-2 draw against Sassuolo earlier this month.
The similarities between the pair don’t stop there either. Maldini started out as a left-back before settling into being a centre-half later in his career, and Bartesaghi looks destined for the same trajectory.
With the teenager being 6ft 5, you would expect him to be deployed in more central positions as he gets older. He is definitely a player to keep an eye on.
