Liverpool make ‘very high offer’ – Nudge Barcelona out of way for signing

Last summer, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi saw his move to Liverpool collapse on deadline day.

The England international is in his final year of contract and Oliver Glasner has said he won’t sign an extension with Crystal Palace.

Guéhi continues to attract interest from Liverpool, while Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also in the mix. On Tuesday, Sport stated the centre-back is the one most liked by Barca sporting director Deco.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports the La Liga winners have made efforts to try and sign the Crystal Palace star.

Barca have been following the 25-year-old and have already met his agent. The meeting took place several weeks ago and talks have ‘cooled considerably’. That’s because of the finances needed to carry out this deal.

There’s no mention of figures in the report, but the newspaper say the ‘differences were significant’. In addition to this, there are other clubs actively pursuing the Crystal Palace player. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are mentioned.

It’s claimed the Reds and the Bundesliga winners are in the lead to sign Guéhi, who has ‘very high offers’ from these two clubs. Both Liverpool and Bayern Munich are prepared to offer substantial salary to him.

Guéhi is set to leave Crystal Palace at the end of this season. However, he doesn’t intend to wait for long and could decide his next destination in January.
