A man has been charged after a stabbing late on Monday night. At around 11pm on Monday December 22, Merseyside Police received a report that a man aged in his 50s had been attacked by another man on Breck Road in Anfield.
The victim suffered a stab wound to his arm but the attacker was not initially found by police. Road closures were put in place in the Anfield area and officers remained at the scene yesterday morning. The top of Breck Road, at the junction of Oakfield Road and Belmont Road, was cordoned off.
A man has since been charged in connection with the incident. Mason Breen, 20, of Buckingham Road, in Tuebrook, has been arrested and charged with section 18 – grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife/blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
He has been remanded to appear at Liverpool Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday December 24).
Yesterday morning, blood splatters, along with tissues and a flip-flop, were spotted on the pavement outside the Anfield Balti House, along with a black Nissan Delta taxi.
A forensic officer took close-up pictures of the taxi before swabbing the outside and inside of the vehicle for evidence.
