Chelsea went through a chaotic 24 hours when it came to their interest in Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window.
The Blues registered their interest in signing Semenyo on Tuesday by making an enquiry over his services, however by the end of the day decided they would not move forward with the deal.
While it remains to be seen the exact reasons behind their swift change of heart, reports have claimed that Semenyo has chosen to join Manchester City.
Chelsea could still sign a new attacker after cooling their interest in Antoine Semenyo. Who would you target, or are you content with Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens?

Chelsea spent plenty of money over the summer to strengthen the left side of their attack. They brought in Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho from Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United.

Chelsea’s Antoine Semenyo interest is warning to Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens
The Argentine has been the stronger of the two this season, however has still shown weaknesses in his game. Garnacho’s finishing could do with improvement for sure.
The fact that Chelsea were so willing to bring in a new player for that position suggests that they have clearly not been happy with what they have seen so far, and the duo have been sent a warning ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have already shown a ruthless streak when it comes to new signings being moved on. They elected not to permanently sign Jadon Sancho last summer after loaning him in for the 2024/25 season.
Gittens in particular has struggled, with the winger who was always so keen to take on his man and get shots off in Germany nowhere to be seen this season.

Worrying times for Gittens
The England U21 international has scored just once for Chelsea so far, with it being a stunning strike against Wolves in the EFL Cup.

Some of the criticism of his game has been brutal. Gittens was described as ‘comical’ after a big miss against Tottenham last month.
There is no doubt still time for him to turn things around, and the position is still very much there to be won at Stamford Bridge.
However, he will need to produce something this season in order to avoid any talk of a potential loan move away from the club at the end of the campaign.
