Liverpool are heading into the busy Premier League run with confidence after a hard-fought 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds have been building momentum, winning three games in a row and remaining unbeaten in six matches. With several key players unavailable due to injuries, suspensions, or international duty, the squad is being tested for depth, especially on the right flank. The Premier League is relentless, and every match is a challenge. Opponents fight until the last whistle, and managers must make tactical adjustments to cope with unexpected setbacks. For Liverpool, maintaining consistency is crucial, not just for climbing the table but also for keeping a strong position in the Champions League race. With Conor Bradley’s fitness uncertain and other key players like Joe Gomez, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Mohamed Salah unavailable, the team’s depth will be tested again this weekend against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
In this context, Jeremie Frimpong has returned from a two-month injury layoff and is ready to contribute. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, the Netherlands international said, “It felt really good to be back out there with the boys and to win as well. So, it was a good comeback, I really enjoyed it.” He also reflected on the difficulties of injuries in football, saying, “Obviously injury in football is really annoying. I think it’s the worst thing in football – that and losing. But it’s part of football. I’m focused, I’m back now so I’m happy to be back.” Frimpong played a key role in Liverpool’s second goal against Tottenham, delivering a deflected cross that Hugo Ekitike headed home. Looking ahead to the weekend clash, he emphasized his willingness to adapt to the team’s needs: “I’m just going to be ready for whatever comes. As a footballer you should be ready for any situation so if I can help the team in any way possible that’s what I’m going to do.”
He also highlighted the importance of maintaining Liverpool’s current run, saying, “I think it’s really important [to maintain that momentum]. Obviously we play football to win and obviously right now we are in a good mood – three wins in a row and hopefully we can just keep that going. But we know how difficult every game is so we’ve got to keep the mindset and just focus on every game.” Frimpong’s return is timely for Liverpool. With the squad stretched, the versatile defender could be crucial in helping the Reds sustain their recent upturn in form and keep pushing for top-four success.
