Liverpool eye shock move for PSG winger

Premier League champions Liverpool host 20th-placed Wolves on Saturday.

The Reds’ defence of their top flight crown was decimated by a dismal run of form during October and November, although a run of three wins and two draws from their last five matches in the competition have eased the pressure on manager Arne Slot.

The Dutchman will expect to see his side pick up all three points against a Wolves side that are yet to win a match in the league so far this term.

Away from the action, it has emerged that Liverpool are eyeing a move for a Ligue 1 winger as an alternative to their top target.

According to CaughtOffside, the Merseyside outfit are pondering a move for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, having seemingly lost the race to land Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo.

Ghana international Semenyo has been the subject of interest from several Premier League clubs this year, including Manchester City and Manchester United, and the report suggests that the Citizens are set to win the race to land the forward.

Barcola, 23, joined PSG from fellow French side Lyon in 2023 and has since made 124 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and registering 33 assists.

It is claimed that Liverpool view Barcola as a prime target to bolster their attacking ranks, either in January or at the end of the season.

Liverpool are said to have stepped up their monitoring of the Frenchman, with Slot a keen admirer of the player’s attributes and playing style.

Barcola’s contract with PSG is set to run until the end of the 2027/28 campaign, and the French champions are said to be keen to secure the player’s long-term future in the French capital.
