Chelsea&Dortmund Making Calls On Defender’s Future

Chelsea loanee Aaron Anselmino to stay at Borussia Dortmund, despite injuries as per latest transfer news.

Dream Start For Aaron Anselmino, Sudden Stop At Dortmund

Aaron Anselmino’s move to Borussia Dortmund started with real buzz. The young center back arrived from Chelsea late in the summer window. He made an instant impact in Bundesliga. On debut, he looked calm, brave on the ball, and earned a standing ovation from the home crowd.

For a defender still learning European football, that moment was huge. It felt like Dortmund had found another smart loan deal.

But, injuries hit Anselmino hard. A long period on the sidelines earlier in the season slowed his rise. In addition, now a hamstring issue has stopped him from playing again. He has played only nine matches so far, starting seven of them.

For a player meant to grow through minutes, that number tells the story. Still, Dortmund’s trust in him has not faded during his tough time. The club believes his talent is clear and his future remains bright.

Chelsea Watch Closely As Recall Clause Looms

Chelsea has included a conditional recall clause in the loan deal. With Anselmino missing games, that option could be triggered in January transfer window. From the Blues’ side, the concern is about the young defender’s need for game time. They don’t want to see their player on the treatment tables. So, sitting out on games helps no one.

Although, Dortmund are not keen on losing Anselmino. In fact, they are open to keeping him beyond this season. They see value in him and believe he can still play a key role once fit.

For now, the plan is clear is that he stays and recovers. After that, he can fights for his place again.

Author’s opinion:

Dortmund should keep Anselmino and protect his growth. Chelsea must trust the process, not rush the recall.
