Happy Holidays Chelsea Fans!–ChelseaNews Christmas Review

ChelseaNews would like to wish Chelsea fans a happy festive period, and what a season it has been for Enzo Maresca’s side so far!

Going into the season, Chelsea fans were looking to build on a strong first year under Enzo Maresca, following their success in winning the Europa Conference League, the Club World Cup, and securing Champions League qualification.

So far this season, things are looking positive. They are outsiders for the Premier League title race, and have performed fairly well in the Champions League. The Chelsea manager has received a lot of praise for the job he’s doing, and Blues fans should be happy with the way things are going as we have reached Christmas.

Chelsea’s season so far

Chelsea began the season as expected, there was some inconsistency, with wins against West Ham and Fulham, but defeats against the likes of Bayern Munich, and Manchester United. However, they began to gather some form, and everything seemed to be clicking for Maresca.

Cole Palmer‘s injury provided a real test, but Chelsea had another ace up their sleeve, as young winger Estevao stepped up, and looks to be a future Ballon D’or winner based on his development so far. Chelsea showed their strength during a 1-1 draw against Arsenal, and then a 3-0 demolition of Barcelona.

Many see Chelsea as outside title contenders, and that is probably fair. But, they look on course to potentially win more silverware this season, so it is no surprise that Maresca is a man in demand.

Will Chelsea do much in the transfer window?

Another thing that the Christmas period brings, is ramped up transfer rumours, as Chelsea prepare to enter the January window, hoping to strengthen their squad even more. It does look like they could make some moves, but whether they sign any big name players remains to be seen.

The Blues’ biggest weakness is at the centre-back position, so several reports have suggested they could be in the running to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, despite Liverpool‘s very strong attempts to sign the England star.

A striker could also be a potential target, as Liam Delap suffered yet another injury, and the Blues are yet to fully replace Nicolas Jackson, who left in the summer.

Even so, everyone at ChelseaNews would like to wish Chelsea fans a very happy holidays, and let’s hope that Maresca can lead them to more silverware this season.
