Happy Holidays Liverpool Fans!–WalkOn Christmas Review

WalkOn would like to wish Liverpool fans a happy festive period with the hope that Arne Slot can figure things out at Anfield.

The Reds will have had sky-high expectations heading into the season, as they had just won the Premier League title in Arne Slot‘s first year, and made some of the signings of the summer with the likes of Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.

However, Liverpool fans will be glad of a Christmas distraction this year, as it hasn’t been a great season at all for the Reds. They are nowhere near the Premier League title race and have seen historic Premier League losing streaks. Arne Slot also has the issue of Mo Salah, who has just left for AFCON.

Liverpool’s season so far

Liverpool’s season started as planned, as they won their opening five league games in the Premier League, including a 1-0 win against Arsenal. But, after that, Liverpool’s form slipped, as they suffered defeats at the hands of Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Brentford.

The pressure began to mount on manager Slot, despite winning the league last year, but, now the focus is on Mo Salah. The legendary winger made some controversial comments which plunged his future into doubt.

It now seems that Salah has gone off to AFCON not knowing if he’ll play for Liverpool again. The Reds will now aim to recover some of their best form, and try to salvage something from the season.

Will Liverpool do much in the transfer window?

Another thing that the Christmas period brings, is ramped up transfer rumours, as Liverpool prepare to enter the January window, hoping to strengthen their squad even more. The big story over the summer was Marc Guehi, and the Reds are expected to make a move for Guehi in January, despite the fact he becomes a free agent in the summer.

Furthermore, Liverpool are also in the race for Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo to be the long-term replacement for Mo Salah. Man City, Man United, and Arsenal are also expected to be keen on the star with a £65m release clause.

Despite the potential January success though, it has been a poor second half of the year for Liverpool, especially considering how good last season was at Anfield.

Even so, everyone at WalkOn would like to wish Liverpool fans a very happy holidays, and let’s hope that Arne Slot can regain the Reds’ form, and they can challenge in the Champions League.
