A look at how the 16 players Chelsea sold last summer are getting on at their new clubs.
Chelsea are something of an unknown entity when it comes to the January transfer window, with the Blues still likely needing to balance incomings with exits after a stern warning and a fine from UEFA in the summer.
Whether Enzo Maresca will add a player or two remains to be seen, and if he does, it will likely be a centre-back, or a striker at a push, but it would likely need to be a pretty cheap deal.
Exits could well be on the cards, though, with a couple of bomb squad players in need of new clubs, and in that vein, we have taken a look at the summer exits to see how those players have been getting on.
Marcus Bettinelli
Bettinelli went on to join Manchester City to become their number three goalkeeper, and as you would expect, he is yet to feature.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Kepa joined Arsenal on a £5million deal to become their back-up. The Spaniard has only featured in the cup to date.
Lucas Bergstrm
Sticking with the keepers, Bergstrom joined Mallorca and has been sporadic, making five league appearances, Mallorca are in the bottom half of La Liga currently.
Bashir Humphreys
Humphreys joined Burnley for £14million but he has not featured much. The young centre-back has only played one and has struggled with injury.
Mathis Amougou
Amougou joined sister club Strasbourg for £12million, and he has made eight appearances so far. Strasbourg are fighting to get into the Ligue 1 European spots.
Dorde Petrovic
Petrovic has been an AFC Bournemouth regular since making his £25million move, with the Cherries hoping to finish in the top half.
Noni Madueke
Madueke joined Arsenal for a touch under £50million and he is yet to make his presence truly felt. He has double figure appearances but the Gunners are yet to see the best of him. He needs a big second half of the season to make the England World Cup squad.
Joao Felix
Felix joined Al-Nassr for £26.2million as he looks to salvage his quickly fading career. He is averaging just under a goal per game in Saudi Arabia, Al -Nassr are top of the Saudi table.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the best performers on this list, playing a vital role in what has been a strong first half of the season from Everton. He has four goals and three assists in the Premier League.
Lesley Ugochukwu
Ugochukwu joined Burnley for £23.2million and it has been a tough season so far for the Clarets. The 21-year-old has featured regularly, though, scoring three time so far.
Armando Broja
Broja is the third player on this list to have joined Burnley, moving for £20million. Broja has struggled mightily in front of goal, yet to score.
Renato Veiga
Veiga has featured regularly for Villarreal, who are having a superb La Liga season. The Yellow Submarine had a disappointing Champions League campaign, but they are well on course for back-to-back Champions League qualifications. Veiga left for just over £24million, and he hasn’t been ultra consistent for Villarreal, but still a young player, there is more to come, and he was harshly sent off against Barcelona last time out.
Carney Chukwuemeka
Chukwuemeka has been playing regularly for a Dortmund side that will be competing for second spot in Bundesliga, with Bayern already pulling away. Dortmund are also heading through to the next round in the Champions League, and the midfielder has also featured regularly in that competition.
Alfie Gilchrist
Gilchrist joined West Brom for just over £1million and he has only featured sparingly. The Baggies have disappointed so far this season and face a battle to get into the playoff race.
Christopher Nkunku
One of the big exits, Nkunku joined Milan for around £32million. Milan are battling rivals Inter for top spot in Serie A in what is set up to be an exciting title race, and Nkunku has played semi-regularly, but with only two goals, he has struggled with production. Around half of his appearances have come off the bench.
Ben Chilwell
Chilwell joined Strasbourg, seemingly out of desperation, and it has gone pretty well for him. Chilwell has featured regularly and as mentioned earlier, Chelsea’s sister club are battling for a European spot.
