The Gerrard family have had plenty to celebrate throughout 2025 and they are making this year's Christmas extra special as it marks the first for Lila Grey Gerrard. Lilly, the eldest daughter of Liverpool FC legend Steven Gerrard gave birth to her daughter in July.
Announcing her daughter's arrival, Lilly Gerrard posted a picture of partner Lee Byrne holding a baby carrier, with the simple caption: "@Leebyrne 2 becomes 3."
The former Liverpool captain has regularly shared how proud he is of Lilly. Gerrard has embraced his role as a grandad and regularly shares photos of himself holding his grandchild. The latest update from the Gerrard family came as they shared an insight into their Christmas Eve.
Sharing a picture to Instagram of Lila in front of a Christmas tree, Lilly said: "Lila’s first Christmas", alongside a red heart emoji and a Christmas tree emoji.
Replies to the post wished the family a merry Christmas. One comment said: "Have the most magical first Christmas as a Mummy" and another comment was "Happy Christmas to you all. Hope you have the most magical time with your gorgeous girl."
Other responses included: "Merry Christmas Lilly and the Gerrard family" and "As Christmas bells ring out in grace, may their chimes weave melodies and harmonies through your life and the lives of those you love."
Gerrard reposted the picture of his daughter and granddaughter to his own social media accounts, before sharing a picture with his son Lio as they sat on a sofa and relaxed together.
Lilly has stayed with the family tradition of using "L" names, the Premier League icon and and his wife, Alex, gave all their four children names beginning with L. In addition to Lilly, they are the proud parents of Lexie, Lourdes and Lio.
Lilly has been dating boyfriend Lee for over two years, since they went public with their romance in a series of snaps posted from their time in Ibiza, Spain.
Gerrard sent a personal message to Lee earlier this year as he celebrated his birthday. He said: "Happy birthday to my son in law." Alongside a picture of the two.
A Christmas present from Liverpool FC to Gerrard this year was a baby-sized Liverpool kit with "Grandad" written across the back with the number 8. The club has been generous to the family since they welcomed another member into the family.
When Lila arrived, the club sent a message to the Gerrard household, it said: "Dear Steven and family, congratulations on the arrival of baby Lila Grey. With love and best wishes from all at Liverpool Football Club xx.
Inside the wrapped gift were plenty of baby products, including a huge white teddy bear, grey slipper socks, white roses, and a heart plaque that read "Dream Big Little One."
