Konate, Wirtz, Bradley: Full Liverpool injury list and potential return games ahead of Wolves…

Tottenham 1-2 Liverpool: Match Review

Liverpool injury news on Conor Bradley, Cody Gakpo, Florian Wirtz, Ibrahima Konate and more.

Arne Slot will have a depleted squad when Liverpool face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The Reds look to extend their unbeaten run of seven games in all competitions against the Premier League basement’s side. While Liverpool will be heavy favourites to deliver victory, they will not be underestimating Wolves. And given the injury concerns that Slot has in his squad, it will make their task harder.

Ahead of the game, here a current look at the injury situation and which players might be available.

Florian Wirtz - cramp

The attacking midfielder was forced off in the closing stages against Spurs. However, Slot insists that Wirtz is fine and he has been in training this week. That means he’ll be fine to face Wolves.

Return game: Wolves (H), Saturday 27 December.

Conor Bradley - unknown

The right-back had to be withdrawn at half-time against Tottenham. Bradley received treatment in the first half after a coming together with Djed Spence. He was able to continue until the break but is now rated 50/50 to face Wolves. Liverpool will assess Bradley’s fitness on Friday.

Potential return game: Wolves (H), Saturday 27 December.

Ibrahima Konate - unknown

The defender has started every Premier League game so far this season and his form has been on the up in recent weeks. However, Konate was not spotted in Tuesday’s training session while he was missing from a photo that Liverpool posted on Christmas Eve. It could be that Konate is being carefully monitored or he has not been training for another reason.

Potential return game: Wolves (H), Saturday 27 December.

Cody Gakpo - muscle

The winger has been unavailable for the past three games. However, Gakpo’s issue is not as serious as Liverpool first feared and he also has an outside chance of featuring against Wolves.

Potential return game: Wolves (H), Saturday 27 December.

Joe Gomez - muscle

The defender had to be withdrawn in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Brighton earlier this month. Gomez remains sidelined although his problem is not thought to be serious.

Potential return game: Leeds (H), Thursday 1 January.

Wataru Endo - ankle

The midfielder sustained an ankle problem in a 3-3 draw at Leeds at the beginning of the month. A return date for the Japan international has still to be given.

Potential return: January

Alexander Isak - leg

The striker is set to be unavailable for a prolonged period after fracturing his fibula at Spurs. Isak will at least be on the treatment table for a couple of months and Liverpool won’t want to rush him back.

Potential return: March

Giovanni Leoni - ACL

The centre-back is still on the long road to recovery. Leoni won’t play again this campaign.

Potential return: August

Mo Salah - African Cup of Nations

The winger is representing Egypt at the tournament. They are one of the favourites to win AFCON and the final takes place on 18 January, meaning Salah could be away for a while.

Potential return game: N/A

Dominik Szoboszlai - suspension

The midfielder picked up his fifth Premier League booking of the campaign at Spurs so he must serve a one-match ban.

Return game: Leeds (H), Thursday 1 January.
