Holmgren was nowhere to be found for OKC in dealing against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
In the Oklahoma City Thunder's back-to-back tough losses against the San Antonio Spurs, the struggles are significantly glaring on Chet Holmgren's side.
The Thunder big man was simply underwhelming and got completely outplayed by Victor Wembanyama in their rivalry matchup.
In the last two games, Holmgren just averaged 8.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He only shot 42.1 percent from the field and couldn't produce tremendously enough to help Oklahoma City win.
In his postgame presser, Thunder coach Mark Daigneault revealed that Holmgren is dealing with illness, which is connected to the center's ongoing slump.
"He's just a total competitor, so he's always gonna be up to play," Daigneault said about Holmgren. "He played the entire playoff run, a little 100% capacity in terms of strength because of the injury last season. And I think that run, more than anything, taught us the type of winner that he is. But he was pretty sick, and gutted through that the other night.
"I don't know how he's feeling now, but the last person I worry about is Chet."
It is an interesting revelation about Holmgren. He also notably missed the team's 1191-03 Monday win against the Memphis Grizzlies due to back issues.
The Thunder can only hope that Holmgren will regain his aggressiveness moving forward, as they'll aim to bounce back on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
