Stephen Curry explains wearing Klay Thompson's shoes in Christmas reunion game

On Thursday, Curry rocked the ANTA KT 11 "Christmas" sneaker of his former Warriors co-star.

As a tribute and welcome on the return of his former running mate in the Bay Area, Stephen Curry wore a special Christmas Day kicks for the Golden State Warriors.

On Thursday, it was observed that Curry laced up the ANTA KT 11 "Christmas" sneaker, honoring Klay Thompson's second appearance in the Chase Center for the first time since his free agency exit in 2024.

Curry, who is now a sneaker free agent upon his recent split with Under Armour, rocked Thompson's signature shoes from warmups up until the final buzzer of the Warriors' 126-116 victory.

Right after the game, Curry was playful enough to answer some inquiries about his intent behind wearing Thompson's Anta shoes.

“No,” Curry said after a 23-point performance, "I just happened to randomly found some Anta Klay Thompson 11’s lying around in the back. Just thought I’d wear ’em and they happened to be my size.

"It was pretty cool.”

On his end, Thompson was happy enough to see Curry wearing his sneakers.

“It was great. Really cool. Wish he didn’t get a win in them, but it was awesome," he said. "Respect.”

Both Curry and Thompson will meet again two more times this season, and time can only tell if the Warriors star will ultimately join his former teammate as part of Anta's sneaker umbrella.
