Angry JJ Redick unloads, criticizes Lakers players in Christmas loss vs Rockets

Redick told reporters that the Lakers' upcoming practice would be "uncomfortable" as his frustration boils following a brutal home loss.

JJ Redick didn't hold back in expressing his true emotions on the Los Angeles Lakers' 119-96 brutal Christmas Day loss against the Houston Rockets.

“Tonight, we were a terrible basketball team," he said.

“We don’t care enough right now. We don’t care enough to do the things that are necessary. We don’t care enough to be professional. We don’t have it right now.”

Thursday night marked the Lakers’ third straight defeat, all of which ended in double-digit losses of more than 15 points.

As such, the Lakers offered an embarrassing Christmas Day treat in front of the Crypto.com crowd. The Rockets featured six different players scoring 13+ points, with Amen Thompson leading the way with 26.

Kevin Durant had 25 markers, while Alperen Sengun dropped 14 points and 12 boards.

Although they severely missed the presence of Austin Reaves, who took an untimely exit because of his calf issues, the Lakers' effort and defensive problems were completely exposed again.

Redick further told reporters that the team's next practice would be "uncomfortable."

"It's a matter of making the choice. And too often, we have guys that don't want to make that choice," Redick said, "And it's pretty consistent who those guys are. And so Saturday's practice, I told the guys, it's gonna be uncomfortable.

"The meeting is gonna be uncomfortable. I'm not doing another 53 games like this."

With the horrible loss against the Rockets, the Lakers' record worsened to 19-10.
