Cooper Flagg just became the 1st rookie since 1970 with at least 25/5/5 on Christmas Day, dropping 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists against the Warriors.

Dallas Mavericks star rookie Cooper Flagg continues to shine, putting up another amazing performance, this time in a 116–126 loss against the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.

Flagg finished the game with 27 points (13/21 FG), six rebounds, and five assists in 36 minutes of play.

With this performance, he became the first rookie since 1970 to record at least 25 points, five rebounds, and five assists on Christmas Day, and he received huge praise from the opposing team afterward.

One of them was Warriors star Stephen Curry, who said the league is in good hands with talents like Flagg ready to take over the NBA.

“Just a true hooper. Competitor. … The league is in good hands,” Curry praised Flagg.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr also didn’t lack kind words for the Mavs rookie, calling him an incredible talent.

“An incredible talent. Great feel for the game, size, athleticism. The passing is what really stands out. Last game, he got it going from three. But until last game, he didn’t look like a huge threat from three, so you can literally see him growing day by day,” Kerr said.

Flagg has been outstanding over his last six games, averaging a staggering 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists on 52.6% shooting from the field.

Overall this season, the 19-year-old is averaging 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in around 34 minutes per game.
