The January transfer window is fast approaching, and as always with Chelsea, there is plenty of anticipation from the supporters. The Blues are notoriously busy in almost every transfer window and while there have been plenty of positives from the first half of Enzo Maresca's second campaign at Stamford Bridge, there is a shared feeling among supporters that the squad needs some improvement.
However, Chelsea are not planning anything mental in the upcoming window. The Blues are content with their squad - and so is Maresca - for the remainder of the season. Chelsea are unlikely to do much business next month, football.london understands, though if an opportunity is deemed too good to pass on, then there could be some activity.
Instead, it is likely to be the summer transfer window where Chelsea become more active in the market. The Blues recognise the mid-season window often sees prices for players become inflated due to clubs not wanting to let them go in the middle of a campaign, and they took a similar, quiet approach earlier this year.
In the 2025 January window, the west Londoners made just one signing in the form of Mathis Amougou, who signed for £12million and played just twice for the senior side between arriving and the end of the campaign.
There could be a few academy stars leaving on loan but again, there are not expected to be many heading through the departure door at Stamford Bridge either. One player who could, though, is Tyrique George, who came so close to leaving the Blues on a permanent deal in the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old attacker was on the verge of making a move to Fulham, only for an outgoing at Craven Cottage to fall through and in turn prevent George departing. The Cobham graduate has featured just 11 times under Maresca this season, and only four of those appearances have come in the Premier League.
George is way down the pecking order in Maresca's eyes and the club will not stand in his way should the right offer come in for the versatile forward, who is said to remain keen on leaving SW6 next month.
Elsewhere, Chelsea are aware of interest in defender Josh Acheampong, but the Blues are unlikely to sanction a move away for the 19-year-old, who is rated extremely highly by senior officials at the club, as well as Maresca. Acheampong is viewed as someone who can have an enormous future at Stamford Bridge, hence Chelsea's stance on letting him leave.

Also, football.london understands that Chelsea made an initial inquiry to Antoine Semenyo's representatives on December 23. However, just a few hours after, it became clear that the Blues would not pursue a move for the Ghanaian winger - with sources insisting the club still have full faith in their current options out wide.
