It’s safe to say Karl-Anthony Towns and Jordyn Woods had a very Merry Christmas.
The New York Knicks star and the model celebrated Christmas on Thursday by making their engagement Instagram official. The couple has been dating for five years, PEOPLE reported.

“Marry (sic) Christmas,” the couple captioned the Instagram post, which featured pictures of Towns getting down on one knee to propose and the couple embracing after Woods accepted it.
The pictures were taken at Overstory, a New York City rooftop bar.
The pair were dressed to impress for Christmas, with Towns wearing a tan suede coat and black pants, and Woods wearing a furry white coat and white dress.

Woods, Towns were friends prior to dating
Towns and Woods began dating in 2020, but were good friends “for years” prior to getting together, according to*Yahoo! Entertainment.*
Woods, 28, told PEOPLE in a 2023 interview that she and Towns, 30, bonded during the COVID pandemic.
“COVID gave us that free time in our life to really get to know each other, because a lot of people don’t really get to know each other and they go into this relationship,” said Woods. “So, we’ve been through a lot together. We’ve seen each other at all different ways, times, phases, so I think we have a very strong foundation.”
Towns told PEOPLE he and Woods helped each other get through the toughest time, which included the death of the basketball star’s mother in April 2020.
“Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends,” said Towns. “And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way, but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship.
“It just so happened, the COVID came and kind of brought its challenges and it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more. And we chose the latter.”
