“We don’t want anyone…” – Chelsea figure’s stark statement about tomorrow’s thriller

Chelsea players have not taken a Christmas break like the rest of us. They’ve been training and recovering and preparing for tomorrow’s huge top of the table clash against Aston Villa.

“It’s a busy period, so it’s about having a lot of rest, managing yourself well, and having the squad to do the right rotations, which we have been doing. Everybody has been getting their chance to play in different games,” Sanchez said in quotes picked up by the club’s official website.

“When you’re home, spend time with family and enjoy it, but also make sure you’re managing yourself well and getting the right amount of rest.”

Sanchez noted that tomorrow’s opposition are going to be a serious challenge for Enzo Maresca’s Blues:

“They are a very good team, ten wins in a row, so of course we want to break their stride, especially at home,’ said the stopper.

“We don’t want anyone to get points from us at home. We have trained well this week and we are going to go out there, give our best, try to get a clean sheet and win the game.”

Sanchez also talked about his team’s back 4, and how the recent defensive improvement was in large part down to them finally being able to play together consistently for an extended period. They will be seriously tested when we taken on a high flying Aston Villa side.

Reece James has had a week off and will likely play a key role tomorrow, possibly in midfield. He spoke to the club’s official website about a player he looked up to.
