NBA superstar Karl-Anthony Towns and longtime girlfriend Jordyn Woods found a way to make the most out of their Christmas celebration. During the holiday, the New York Knicks big man, who has been dating Woods for five years, took the next step by making Woods go from girlfriend to fiancée.
After the Knicks’ narrow win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden on Christmas, the couple officially announced their engagement with some photos from the proposal.

Towns popped the question at the NYC rooftop bar Overstory.

“Marry Christmas,” the caption read, followed by a Christmas tree, heart, and ring emojis. Woods also flaunted her massive rock.

Woods and Towns had known each other for several years before beginning their relationship in 2020. They made their relationship on Instagram in September of the same year.
Towns previously explained that their relationship began to grow, when she was there during one of the difficult times in his life, losing his mother.

“Me and Jordyn met years ago knowing common people and just became friends,” Towns told PEOPLE on their one-year anniversary. “And ever since then, our relationship grew where we became more than friends. I’m not saying in that way, but just best friends. And then we started having a deeper relationship.”
Towns added, “It just so happened, the COVID came and kind of brought its challenges and it kind of forced us to either pick where our relationship was going to go as friends or something more. And we chose the latter.”
