Jordan Walsh was upgraded on the Celtics injury report ahead of their 7 p.m. Friday game against the Pacers in Indiana. He’s now available to play. Walsh was originally listed as probable on the injury report with an illness.
Jayson Tatum (Achilles) and Chris Boucher (personal reasons) are out, but otherwise, the C’s are at full strength. Boston is currently on a three-game win streak, including a comeback win over the Pacers on Monday.
Walsh sat the victory over the Pacers due to the illness. His absence resulted in Josh Minott getting the start for the Celtics. However, it’s been the Hugo Gonzalez show over the past few games as the rookie has played the best basketball of his young career.
It remains to be seen who will start Friday for the Celtics. Walsh could continue to get the nod as he’s been the breakout wing in Boston thus far. Gonzalez has certainly made a recent push to earn more playing time.
The Celtics are currently 18-11 on the season, good for third place in the East. They started the season slow, but they’ve been on a recent tear. The Pacers enter Friday’s game with a 6-24 record, 14th in the East, as they’ve been decimated by injuries.
