Along with the defeat, Anthony Davis also had to leave the game early with a groin injury.

As Shams Charania of ESPN reports, Davis will be forced to sit out next couple of games.

Davis sustained a minor groin strain and is 'likely to miss the next few games' per the same source.

Davis will be evaluated daily and will follow a specific programme created by the Mavericks organisation for his recovery.

This year, he played 16 games for the Dallas Mavericks, averaging 20.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists in just below 30 minutes per game.
