MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Former Wisconsin forward Micah Potter has signed with the Indiana Pacers, the organization announced on Friday.
Potter enters Indianapolis after spending time with the Austin Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs G-League affiliate.
In his time in Austin, the forward averaged 15.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.4 blocks in 12 games played.
Potter will join the Pacers on a non-guaranteed contract, amid recent injury issues at center.
The move also resulted in the organization waiving guard Garrison Mathews, and the release of center James Wiseman.
Potter transferred to Wisconsin in 2018, where he redshirted the 2018-19 season. He was not able to make his Wisconsin debut until Dec. 21, 2019 due to an NCAA ruling.
In his single season with the Badgers, he made a big impact with an average of 10.3 points and 6.3 assists per game. He also contributed a major role in Wisconsin’s journey to its Big Ten title in the 2019-20 season.
Potter now makes his move to the NBA following a successful G-League showing this season.
The organization says that Potter will be available in Indiana’s game vs. Boston on Friday.
