Latest Kon Knueppel injury update: Test results revealed

Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel exited Friday's game against the Orlando Magic with a right ankle injury. Hornets head coach Charles Lee revealed that the X-rays on the right ankle were negative, although they will have to wait until returning to Charlotte for a more concrete diagnosis.

One of the top rookies in the NBA this season, Charlotte Hornets forward Kon Knueppel, suffered an injury in the last game against the Orlando Magic on Friday, which the Hornets won 120–105.

Just before halftime, Knueppel landed on Desmond Bane's foot while trying to contest his shot attempt and twisted his right ankle, forcing him to miss the rest of the game.

After the game, Hornets head coach Charles Lee provided an injury update on their rookie.

He revealed that the X-rays on the right ankle were negative, although they will have to wait until returning to Charlotte for a more concrete diagnosis.

"(It) sounds like X-rays were negative," Lee said via Rookie Wire. "We'll get more information as we get back to Charlotte, but I love what he gave our group, and we needed all 16 of those points before he exited the game."

Knueppel entered the contest on Friday averaging 19.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 41.9% from three-point range for the Hornets.
