Earlier in the season, a report appeared in Spain suggesting that Barcelona had told Robert Lewandowski to stop scoring goals.
During Lewandowski’s interview with Polish YouTuber Bogdan Rymanowski, Lewandowski was asked if it’s true that Barcelona asked him to stop scoring goals in order not to pay a bonus to Bayern Münich.
Lewandowski replied: “There are some things that I don’t want to speak about. I respect FC Barcelona and everyone who works there.
”I was aware of the club situation. Many things had to be resolved for the good of the club.
”In summary, it was a bonus. At that moment, Barça were looking at every single euro. It was not a small thing.
“For me it didn’t change anything. I had no problems with it, but I kept wondering if I should score or not,” Lewandowski said.
This is a clear admission of guilt from Lewandowski. Indeed, Barcelona asked their striker to stop scoring goals at the back end of last season.
