Salah left Anfield earlier this month to compete at the AFCON with Egypt.
The Liverpool winger scored the winner against Zimbabwe in their opening group game and was once again on target on Boxing Day.

His upturn in form follows his return to the squad against Brighton, during which he provided an assist.
However, while the 33-year-old is now back playing, Salah’s long-term future remains up in the air, with some suggesting he could leave in 2026.
Mohamed Salah future update before January transfer window
Prior to Christmas, Salah’s agent had talks with Liverpool about his client.
Now, a fresh update on the situation has been shared via The Athletic.

They say that Liverpool don’t expect their star winger to leave Merseyside during the 2026 winter transfer window.
However, when discussing potential transfers, the report adds that their recruitment team will assess market opportunities and have several young players on their radar.
Liverpool have been linked with Antoine Semenyo, but it does appear as though Manchester City are in pole position for the AFC Bournemouth man.
Should Salah end up leaving in January, we may well see the Reds move for a new attacker, but as of right now, it looks set to be a quiet winter at Anfield.

When will Mohamed Salah return to Liverpool
Egypt are back in action on December 29, playing out their final group game of the tournament.
The result of that fixture is now irrelevant, as they have already won their opening two matches and sit five points clear of third place, with just three points left to play for.
So, at the very least, Salah will be playing one more match before returning to Liverpool.
The last-16 stage will take place between January 3 and January 6 (fixtures are yet to be confirmed).
Liverpool’s first game after that round of games is a huge meeting with Arsenal on January 8.
Salah may be back for that fixture if Egypt are given one of the earlier last-16 dates and lose.
At the very worst, though, the winger could make it to the final on January 18, and the Reds’ next game after the tournament ends comes against Marseille on January 21.
