Talks held:"Interesting"Liverpool ace who Slot likes could be edging closer to January exit

**Liverpool youngster Trey Nyoni could potentially be edging closer to a loan move away in the January transfer window, according to a fresh claim.**

The 18-year-old has been one of the Reds’ more gifted young players to emerge from the academy in recent years, impressing with his technical ability and calm in midfield.

Nyoni made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in the 2-1 win away to Tottenham last time around, being introduced as a substitute deep into stoppage time.

The Englishman’s playing time is going to be limited, however, with Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Curtis Jones among those ahead of him in the midfield pecking order.

According to [_TEAMtalk_](https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/reds-seek-perfect-move-trey-nyoni-talks-held), Liverpool are “holding talks with a number of clubs” about a possible loan move for Nyoni in January, but it is stressed that the Reds are “yet to decide” whether to allow him to leave or not.

It is also claimed that “Premier League and Championship clubs have enquired as well as sides from Europe”, as the champions look to “find the perfect move for him”, in terms of his development.

**Does a January loan move for Nyoni make sense?**

--------------------------------------------------

Nyoni is a player with a bright future in the game, with Liverpool head coach [Arne Slot](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0jqy5kyn21o) speaking of his admiration for him last year, saying:

_“Trey did well, he was involved in the goal with a spot on pass between the lines and he was involved in our biggest chance in the second half. But he’s only just turned 17 and his body still has to grow. We are really careful with him. He doesn’t join every session. You can see his quality. He needs some time to grow to play at Premier League level but he’s an interesting player.”_

As mentioned, though, it is hard to see where minutes are going to regularly come Nyoni’s way for Liverpool this season, unless injuries strike down numerous midfielders.

For that reason, sending the teenager out on loan until the end of the campaign feels best for his development, as long as he moves to the right club, becoming a regular and flourishing in their style of play.
