Latest on Andrew Wiggins-Lakers trade talks: No longer a legit candidate?

The Miami Heat reportedly were not moved by any of the Lakers’ offers for Andrew Wiggins.

The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly been actively trying to acquire some help for their run toward contention for the NBA title, although so far they haven't had much success doing so.

According to multiple reports, Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins has been one of the main trade targets for the Lakers since the offseason, but so far the trade talks haven't progressed much.

Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints reports that the Heat weren’t moved by any of the Lakers’ offers for Andrew Wiggins, signaling that they aren't actively shopping Wiggins.

“Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins is a player the Lakers explored trade talks about this past offseason, and he is the ideal type of athletic 3-and-D wing to add around Doncic, James, and Reaves. The problem is that the Heat haven't been moved by anything Los Angeles has to offer, and Miami has signaled that they aren't actively shopping Wiggins," Siegel reports.

A former No. 1 overall pick, Wiggins is a one-time All-Star and an NBA champion from Golden State's 2022 title run. He is averaging 15.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists through 26 games this season.

Financially, Wiggins is set to earn $28.2 million in the 2025–26 season and holds a $30.2 million player option for the following year.
