Kings vs. Mavericks: Basketball Slop

Everybody’s favorite basketball team is back in action tonight following a short break for the holidays. Let’s get to it.

Who: Sacramento Kings (7-23) vs. Dallas Mavericks (12-20)

Where: Golden 1 Center, Sacramento, CA

When: 2:00 PM PT / 5:00 PM ET

Watch: NBCSCA / League Pass

Keegan Murray sustained a mild calf strain in Sacramento’s loss to the Pistons on Tuesday. He will be reevaluated in one week, but for our purposes here, he’ll be missing todays game against the Mavericks along with Drew Eubanks, Zach LaVine, and Domantas Sabonis.

Between Murray, LaVine, and Sabonis, Christie is missing his three best players right now. And for a Kings team that already has the worst record in the Western Conference, that is bad news. Or good news, depending on what you care about.

At 7-23, Sacramento is just one win ahead of both the Pacers (6-25) and the Wizards (6-23) for the worst record in the league. The tank is firing on all cylinders.

At 12-20, the Mavericks aren’t much better, and their injury report is just as spooky. Kyrie Irving is out. Dereck Lively is out. Anthony Davis is questionable.

A loss is more beneficial than a win for both teams, so, enjoy the Saturday slop fest.

Prediction: Kings 115, Mavericks 109.
