James Harden trade rumors: NBA insider shares Clippers’ bold stance

The Clippers reportedly won't consider trading their All-Star guard amid recent struggles and ongoing monitoring of league circles.

In the wake of the recent murmurs, the Los Angeles Clippers are reportedly not entertaining potential deals around James Harden.

NBA insider Jake Fischer dropped the update, further noting that Harden has an implied no-trade clause for 2025/26 and a $42.3 million player option for the 2026-27 season, with $13.3MM guaranteed.

As such, Harden would likely only approve a trade if the acquiring team plans to keep him past his July 11 guarantee date or is willing to re-sign him.

"Another Clippers guard being monitored as a potential trade candidate, as we've been telling you in recent around-the-league notebooks, is Paul's former Rockets running mate James Harden. The Clippers, for the record, continue to message that they don’t want to trade Harden no matter how often rival teams whisper that they are anticipating exactly that between now and Feb. 5," Fischer wrote.

The Clippers' season struggles have led to Harden being tagged by several trade rumors. Several teams continue to monitor his situation in Los Angeles, where a prime Western Conference contender could make a run for him.

Right now, the Clippers are slowly regaining their composure. They have already won their last three games, with Harden and Kawhi Leonard leading the way.

This season, Harden is averaging 26.3 points, 8.0 assists and 5.0 boards.
