Liverpool table bid to sign 'unstoppable' Bundesliga star in January, he could replace Salah -…

Liverpool have made an offer to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi in January, according to Fichajes.

The Reds are looking to bolster their squad in the new year despite a record-breaking summer transfer window where they broke the British transfer record twice to sign Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, as well as bringing in Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and Giovanni Leoni.

But after Isak suffered a broken leg during the win over Tottenham earlier this month, and amid question marks over the future of Mohamed Salah after his public outburst against Arne Slot, a new forward is said to be on the agenda.

Liverpool Table Bid for Karim Adeyemi

Karim Adeyemi

Adeyemi, who has been described as 'unstoppable', has been a regular for the Bundesliga outfit this season, scoring six goals and registering three assists.

That form, along with the fact that the Germany international is in a contract dispute with the club over a potential renewal, has seen the Anfield club make a move for him to strengthen their own options by tabling a £17m offer for his services.

The Merseyside club have identified him as a potential market opportunity after Isak's injury, while Salah's future means that Adeyemi's pace and ability to play on the wings would also be of use to Slot. However, the offer is believed to be way under Dortmund's valuation of the 23-year-old, and is being considered as a tactical offer more than a realistic proposal by club insiders.

Dortmund are aware that they will have to sell the player if he doesn't agree a new contract, however, it is thought that they would be willing to wait until the summer to make a final decision rather than be forced into doing so in mid-season.

Liverpool Need a New Winger

A new winger should be seen as one of the priorities in January for Liverpool considering their lack of options in attack, and Adeyemi would certainly fit the bill of the style they need.

With blistering pace, an eye for goal, and experience at the highest level despite his age, Adeyemi could come into the side and provide great competition in all three forward positions.

A January transfer is never easy to do, especially when one club doesn't want to do the deal, but if Liverpool can get it over the line then they will be much better for it in the second half of the season.
