Romano Reveals Chelsea Defender "Has Been Offered" To 4 Different Clubs With January Exit Expected

Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi “has been offered to Barcelona” and three other clubs, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues don’t have any available slots for loan deals abroad, and speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said that the Frenchman will only depart Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window if a team is willing to take him on a permanent basis:

“Disasi has been offered to Barcelona, but the only way is a permanent transfer. Disasi cannot leave Chelsea on a loan deal. Can be only a permanent transfer. And so let’s see if Barcelona will decide to proceed with this kind of option or will they look for a different one because Disasi is still on a big salary at Chelsea, even if he’s out of the squad.”

“For Disasi, there is also Roma, Olympique Lyon and Paris FC interested in the player. He’s been offered, but at the moment,t Barcelona have not proceeded so far.”

Maresca has made it clear he doesn’t want Disasi

During the last international break, the 27-year-old was pictured training with the first team. When asked whether that meant the centre-back had been reintegrated into the squad, head coach Enzo Maresca replied:

“Axel is helping the second team, helping the young players as he did during the international break. At the moment, he is helping the second team and helping them.”

How much is the Chelsea star earning?

As Romano mentions, Disasi’s wage could scupper a permanent exit from Stamford Bridge. He takes home £80,000 a week, which is not a lot in Premier League terms.

However, teams like Paris FC, Lyon and even Roma would think twice before matching that salary. A lot may depend on whether Barca are tempted to make a move, considering the issues they have been having at centre-half.
