Everything you need to know about Arsenal's latest injury news and the recent blows for Mikel Arteta's defence...

Riccardo Calafiori: Aggravated an injury during the warm-up against Brighton. Mikel Arteta noted the player was "not comfortable" after feeling something in training the day before. The defender is being assessed, and while some reports suggest he could feature against Aston Villa on Tuesday night, he is a major doubt.

Mikel Arteta update: "It's something that he felt yesterday, something very awkward that happened, and today in the warm-up he wasn’t comfortable," Arteta said.

Jurrien Timber: Missed the 2-1 win over Brighton after "landing awkwardly" in the Carabao Cup win over Crystal Palace earlier in the week. Timber faces a late fitness test for the clash against Villa.

Kai Havertz: Has been back in full training for several days, having missed the last four months with a knee injury and narrowly missed out on the squad to face Brighton. Arteta suggested his return is a "matter of days," making it a possibility he could be available to face Villa.

Alternatives up top: Arsenal have Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus as their striker options going into the clash with Villa. Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard have also operated there in false 9 roles.

Ben White: Suffered the injury against Wolves in mid-December and is yet to rejoin full training. White is expected to miss the Villa game to ensure a full recovery for the New Year.

Cristhian Mosquera: Sidelined with an ankle injury and remains ruled out for the festive period. Arsenal currently have Myles Lewis-Skelly, Piero Hincapie and William Saliba as their fit defensive options, while Gabriel Magalhaes could also be an option after returning from injury with a cameo performance against Brighton.

Max Dowman: Ankle ligament damage sustained earlier this month, and the youngster is out for the foreseeable future.
